Between 1984 and 1989, Gary Moore shifted his focus to a hard rock and heavy metal style. During this period, he released several albums including Victims of the Future (1984), Run for Cover (1985), Wild Frontier (1987), and After the War (1989). Moore’s collaborations during these years included his former Thin Lizzy bandmate Phil Lynott, with whom he had a UK hit single, “Out in the Fields.” He also worked with notable drummers such as Cozy Powell and Chris Slade. Despite achieving commercial success, Moore became disillusioned with the hard rock sound by the end of the decade, leading to a change in musical direction.
