Between 1984 and 1989, the Norwegian synth-pop trio A-ha rose to international superstardom. Formed in 1982 by singer Morten Harket, keyboardist Magne Furuholmen, and guitarist Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, the band’s career exploded with the release of their 1985 debut album, Hunting High and Low. The album featured the massive international hit “Take On Me” and its groundbreaking animated music video. Following this success, they released Scoundrel Days (1986) and Stay on These Roads (1988), which included the title track for the 1987 James Bond film, “The Living Daylights.” The band became known for their unique sound and stylish videos, earning multiple awards during this period.
