In 1987, the Tracks chart was a blend of global superstars like Madonna, the Pet Shop Boys, and Michael Jackson, alongside a strong showing by successful Swedish artists. The band Style secured two top-ten spots on the year-end list, and Trance Dance solidified the dominance of domestic new wave. This strong homegrown scene was the direct groundwork for what would later be called the “Swedish music miracle”.
